    We Olive hosts Movie Nights each Thursday in July on the back patio. Grab a glass of wine or a craft beer and enjoy your favorite films in an open-air cinema. Movies start at 7pm and are free to enjoy with any purchase from the wine bar. Seating is first come, first served!

    Old Pasadena Summer Cinema returns for another year as a month-long, FREE movie series featuring nearly 20 screenings in unique urban locations. Running from July 5 – July 28, this annual summer film program celebrates motion picture in all forms, offering a variety of audience-pleasing movie titles and genres at various locales throughout the historic district of Old Pasadena. All the Old Pasadena Summer Cinema screenings are free and open to the public.

    How Much Further (Qué tan lejos) (2006) NR – 92 min. After a bus strike waylays their travel plans to Cuenca, Ecuador, Esperanza and Tristeza (Tania Martinez and Cecilia Vallejo) take their journey into their own hands and decide to hitchhike. Along the way they meet interesting characters who help them re-evaluate the purpose of their journey.

    Limited seating is provided at One Colorado.  Arrive early to secure your seats.

    500 Days of Summer (2009) PG-13 – 95 min. Viewers of this romantic comedy are taken on a non-linear exploration of the up-and-down relationship between Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Summer (Zooey Deschanel), which examines what “real love” is and spans – from their initial meeting at work to their good-bye meeting once Summer is married to another man – 500 Days.

    One Colorado businesses join the fun!

    • Prawn hosts a pop-up bar with libations and their famous Campanile/Mark Peel grilled cheese sandwiches to order.
    • Il Fornaio offers a bene dinner deal – choice of one pizza (pepperoni or Margherita), two bags of popcorn and two cans of soda.
    • iPic hands out popcorn (while supplies last)
    • Sugarfina sells sweet treats.

    The Princess Bride (1987) PG – 98 min. A boy listens to a fairy tale told by his grandfather that follows the efforts of a young farmhand named Westley (Cary Elwes) who begins a journey and meets new traveling companions to rescue his true love Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright) from the odious Prince Humperdinck.

    The Muppet Movie (1979) G – 95 min. Kermit the Frog embarks on a cross-country trip to Hollywood in the first theatrical film featuring Jim Henson’s Muppets. Along the way, Kermit is pursued by the evil restaurateur Doc Hopper and picks up several Muppet friends that share his show business dream, resulting in an epic road trip comedy that also features many familiar human cameos. In 2009, the film was named to the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being “culturally, historically or aesthetically” significant and will be preserved for all time.

    This screening in Central Park provides the chance to picnic in the park prior to the film, and includes special free activities that celebrate the art of puppeteering, DJ sets from Glenn Red, and free ice cream from Paradis (while supplies last). Bring your own chairs and blankets to Central Park.
