Support Local

Old Pasadena - Holiday Cheer Starts Here

Celebrate Local - all season long!

We still believe in the magic of local businesses. This year more than ever, we need your support. Shop, dine, and support local business in Old Pasadena.

This season, local businesses are counting on your holiday dollars to stay afloat and keep their doors open. It’s been such a tough year for small businesses and shopping local through the holidays ensures these treasured locations will continue to serve our community in 2021 and beyond. When you purchase from your local retailer, restaurant, and service provider, you help retain jobs, maintain revenue for vital city services, and preserve the unique, local flavor of Pasadena.

As of December 7, and continuing for at least 21 days, the governor of the state of California has issued a new health order that set strict stay-at-home requirements and limitations on business throughout Southern California. For full details, please visit City of Pasadena COVID-19 updates.

  • Retail establishments are open at 20% capacity
  • Restaurants are open for takeout and delivery only
  • Bars and personal care services including hair and nail salons are closed
  • Gyms may continue with outdoor activities only

Here are some tips and quick links for safely supporting local businesses whether from the comfort of your home or in-person:

Shop local and support independent businesses either with a quick, safe visit or by shopping online. Our retailers are open and prepared to assist you however you choose. Many are offering contact-free curbside pick-up. Check out our “Only in Old Pas” list and spread some cheer by shopping at one of our unique, indie retailers today!

Choose takeout or delivery as a safe option and enjoy dining at home. Use our restaurant directory to discover something new or find an old favorite!  Use the "Takeout & Delivery" filter to see a current list.

Take advantage of the 90-minutes free parking at all three Park & Walk Garages. Inquire about contact-free curbside pick-up at participating businesses, and look for convenient 20-minute pick-up zones marked in yellow.

If you don’t feel safe visiting in person, shop and order food online. Purchase gift cards from your favorite service providers (hair, nails, massage, trainer, etc.) as stocking stuffers or to use later. Pay it forward…

Smile wide behind your mask and tip a little extra to let those providing essential services know you care.

Use social media to follow, like, and share your favorite businesses. Write a glowing review to give them a boost! Tag your friends to share a recommendation.

All of these actions will go a long way to help our local businesses survive. Thank you for helping us keep Old Pas the thriving commUNITY we all know and love!
