Exploring Pasadena is offering "Women Who Shaped Pasadena Walking Tours." On these two new special Women's History Month tours, you'll walk in the footsteps of some of the women who inspired and were inspired by the City of Roses. You'll hear stories about their experiences and contributions to the life and growth of Pasadena, California.

Women of Orange Grove
Saturday, March 4 - 11:00 am-1:00 pm

Come learn about some of the earliest women who shaped Pasadena, from the pioneers of the Indiana Colony to independent entrepreneurs, to the hostesses of Millionaires' Row. You'll discover the stories of botanists, writers, artists, and philanthropists - all of whom happened to be women!

Women of Downtown Pasadena
Saturday, March 11 - 11:00 am-1:00 pm

The women associated with Pasadena's downtown and Civic Center built lives as athletes and politicians, suffragists and business owners, architects, and teachers. They juggled family responsibilities while pursuing their ambitions, and many found success on the bustling streets of the Crown City.  On this 2-hour walking tour, you'll explore Old Pasadena and the Civic Center - and hear stories about the lives of women who built careers and lived full lives in the area.

It is not necessary to attend both tours, and each will focus on a separate group of women with minimal overlap.
