Amidst a season of societal heaviness, confusion, and constraint, the husband-wife duo of Jacob and Jasmine Mayeda emerged out of nowhere as JUICYPEAR (SoCal, actually) in the back-half of 2020 with a series of shimmery, soulful, power-pop tunes that delivered an essential dosage of levity and bliss to weary souls worldwide. "Future, disco, pop" is how they describe the sound that they just happened upon one day in the studio. The music really does speak for itself so if you need a dose of sunshine on any given day we highly recommend you go for a drive, roll down your windows (and the sunroof), and blast JUICYPEAR we guarantee a glowing smile will make its way to your face.
Travis Holcombe has been a staple of the Los Angeles radio airwaves since 2011. In 2016, he was named Best Radio DJ in Los Angeles by LA Weekly. He is currently the host and DJ of FREAKS ONLY, weeknights 8-10 pm on KCRW.

De Lux are a band from Los Angeles. A mix of new wave, post-punk, funk, and disco. Since 2014, via their label Innovative Leisure, have released 3 albums and 3 EPs, as well as a handful of remixes and singles. Played festivals such as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Panorama, etc. Toured and opened for bands like Breakbot, UMO, Interpol, and Cut Copy. They are set to release their 4th album in 2022.

August 20 - Sofía Valdés with KCRW DJ Jeremy Sole
Sofía Valdés is a singer/songwriter, born and raised in Panama, educated in the U.S. and Liverpool, UK. Sofía’s family is deeply musical, ranging from Panamanian folk music to Cubanismo. She’s been working with a wide range of producers and songwriters honing her voice and prepping for her debut EP. Her sound encompasses a musical texture that crosses over into pop with alternative sensibilities.
Jeremy Sole is on a mission to show how music is a singular universal language, and that each culture’s rhythms and melodies are no more than slang - different accents of the same mother tongue. His DJ sets, remixes, and original compositions juxtapose world sounds and unique beats into a sonic ritual - a celebration of life out loud.
