Celebrate the memory of family members with the Pasadena Senior Center as they present a joyful concert by the Susie Hansen Latin Trio Sunday, October 24, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on the spacious patio behind the Pasadena Senior Center in honor of the traditional Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
The patio will be decorated festively with traditional Día de los Muertos ornamentations. There will be plenty of room for listening and dancing to the renowned trio's irresistible music.
Everyone who attends is encouraged to bring a photograph or other memento of a loved one who has passed away and place it on the ofrenda, a special altar that will be created for the day.
Susie Hansen is a long-established jazz musician who has developed a style that features her electric violin as the lead instrument of the ensemble. She draws on various forms of jazz and Latin music.
The cost of the concert is free for members of the Pasadena Senior Center and only $5 for nonmembers. COVID protocols will be observed. To register or for more information, visit www.pasadenaseniorcenter.org and click on Events, Clubs and Lectures, then At the Center or call 626-795-4331.
Members and nonmembers of the Pasadena Senior Center are encouraged to visit the website regularly for a weekly blog, monthly magazine, ongoing activities throughout the year, COVID updates for older adults and more.
The center, at 85 E. Holly Street, is an independent, donor-supported nonprofit organization that has served older adults for more than 60 years.
