People age 50 and older will fine-tune their lives, health, safety, and more at the first annual #AgeWell Day, sponsored by Kaiser Permanente.
The morning features three speakers on issues of Healthy Aging each addressing one of the three areas: Mind, Body, and Spirit. Dr. Alan Chapman, producer/host at KUSC Classical Radio and a faculty member at the Colburn Conservatory of Music will speak on the value of music in our lives as we age. Pilates instructor Monica Blake will share her own story of courage in physical recovery and the value of exercise for the body.
The Center will provide a morning of demonstrations, workshops, and information from 9:00am to noon. Information and demonstrations will focus on health and care, including medical marijuana, and being prepared for “The Big One” presented by the Pasadena City Fire Department. Mini classes and workshops will focus on exercise and dance.
Finally, with a focus on common interests and concerns among older adults of all ages, backgrounds and abilities information will be provided about activities, social groups and clubs.
The public is welcome to dance the afternoon away enjoying a variety of dance music from Ballroom to Line to Salsa and Disco with music by Eric Torres.
The event is free, but advance reservations are required - please do so online or call the Center at 626-685-6754.
